This is a variable and vigorous species with very decorative stems and finely devided foliage. This is a wide spread Restio found growing in the Eastern and Western Cape, common in coastal and mountain Fynbos. The rhizomes form thick clumps to over 1 meter across and the strong culms give a very graceful appearance. Best on free draining acid to neutral soil. Hardy to about -6/-7⁰C. Rare.
